Dear Donald,
There are many who believe that God is in control of everything and when disaster strikes, they claim it is God’s punishment for the sin of the people, the city or the country hit by the disaster.
Let me be clear, I do not believe that is how it works but those who do could argue that since we are all sinners there is some disaster with our name on it.
In my quest to understand how we got to where we are as a country and where you are as the President of our country, it occurred to me that there were a few mistakes made along the way.
Some of the mistakes are obvious like flouting your own task force’s best practices and downplaying the seriousness of the virus for at least a month and a half.
I think the biggest mistake though might lay at the feet of Mike Pence if he has not taken the time to counsel you. Obviously, you are a grown ass man as well as the President and the idea of needing counsel might seem ridiculous to you. All of the serious followers of Christ that I know, have a group that they rely on who keep them accountable. They counsel one another and help keep one another grounded so that they do not lose their way especially if they are in positions of power.
I do not know if you have such a group of men but It seems likely that your Vice President probably does. So I did a little research and found out that near the beginning of your term, there was a Cabinet Bible Study started and was attended by cabinet members such as Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo, Betsy DeVos, Rich Perry, Jeff Sessions, Tom Price and others. According to the leader of the study, Ralph Drollinger, you do not attend the Bible study but you received the 8 page print outs most weeks and sometimes sent him notes like “Way to go Ralph, really like this study, keep it up.”
I thought it would be interesting to find out more about Ralph Drollinger and came across this March 28, 2020 article in the Christian Post with the headline: White House distances Trump from Bible study leader over controversial post. Your Deputy Press Secretary, Judd Deere stated that Drollinger’s “comments are disgusting and certainly not something the President believes.”
Many people believed Drollinger was linking the Coronavirus to the wrath of God because of the permissive attitude America and the world has toward homosexuality. Drollinger said his comments had been misinterpreted. Here is the article he wrote and the bible study.
That brings me back to you and who you receive counsel from. There are reports that you do not read intelligence briefings so it is possible that even though you may have received Drollinger’s Bible Studies, you may not have dived into the more than 1 page manifestos with gusto.
I am not a minister, pastor or Bible study teacher but if I were Mike Pence and I had the opportunity to counsel you and share a study with you, I would give you bite size morsels that you could chew quickly and get back to your busy life. Just a few scriptures here and there.
I understand you are at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center so that you may receive the best care money can buy for the symptoms you are experiencing now that you have tested positive for Coronavirus. Since you may be isolating for up to 14 days, I have listed below 14 scriptures for you to meditate on each morning.
Day 1: Isaiah 2:12
The LORD Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled)

This is what the LORD says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches

Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice
Day 5: Philippians 2:3

Day 6: Proverbs 8:13
To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
Day 7: Isaiah 23:9
The LORD Almighty planned it, to bring down her pride in all her splendor and to humble all who are renowned on the earth.
Day 8: Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Day 11: Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Day 12: Romans 12:16
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
Day 13: 1 Corinthians 13:4
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
Day 14: James 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
This letter reflects my thoughts and the above scriptures could be considered prayers. They’re with you and Melania.
By the way, I know you’re undergoing treatment for it but please note that according to the Johns Hopkins COVID 19 Map* as of October 2, 2020 at 10:23pm EST, under your leadership, there are 208,690 Americans killed by Covid-19 and 7,332,201 CONFIRMED cases.
